  1. Savard's always struck me as a throwback kinda player. Playing a tough, physical sort of hockey that's becoming rarer and rarer within the new mindset of the NHL (I think it was Recchi who pointed out a week or two ago that it's a skating game now before it's anything else)

But more than that, Savvy consistently plays his heart out every night he's on the ice, whatever the score. The man puts his body on the line, more often than not with quantifiable results.

Not that that can't be found elsewhere on the team this year. Lucic comes to mind and Chara has always played that way. And Bergy's really stepped it up in Savard's absence, evil Spock beard and all :)

We miss ya, Savvy. Get well and get back on the ice soon.

  2. I think at this time having Savvy back will be the morale booster the team needs. When the media and fans stop talking how about how much he and Luch are needed maybe the team can get back to normal.

  3. @momofsjo I agree with you 100%. The Bruins can't blame the way they are playing on the 2 injuries to Savard and Lucic but maybe when they return it will shake things up (in a good way) and get the team rolling in the right direction! Let's hope so!

  5. It all comes down to one word. Scoring! You can't win if you don't put the puck in the net. We need our points leader back!

  6. Without Savvy, we don't have the jedi-like foresight, the crisp "oh my god how did he even SEE that" passes, the chemistry on the first line.

Minus Savvy and Looch, this team is like a kid that only barely knows how to swim; we keep getting dunked under. .500 is okay, but let's get the kid some floaties. COME BACK, SAVVY.

  7. savard is the passer of the group. He can create a space to pass out of nothing, just getting the puck through heavy traffic to get it to the right player who is wide open. So many of Boston's players could score so many more goals had they been receiving passes from Savvy!

Not only that, he's also the loud-mouthed funny guy on the team who just never shuts up ;-)

With Tuukka Rask playing so extraordinarily well, how should the Bruins goaltending plan proceed?

If you could add just ONE Hall of Fame legend to this Bruins team, who would it be?

Which winger did you expect more goal scoring from this season?
